People that think we are respected in the rest of the world because of Donald Trump need to take some time to actually see what headlines show about him in media outside of the United States of America. If all the news about him is fake here, then are we really supposed to believe it’s somehow even more fake everywhere else too? That would mean media across completely different countries are all wrong in the exact same way and only Trump and his supporters are the source of truth. You see headlines like “Why is Trump So Mean?”, “Vulgar U.S. President,” “Trump Spews Profanity on Easter,” “Spaniards See Trump as Bigger Threat to Global Peace than Putin,” and “Trump Grunts Major Threats.” That’s not just from one news source, it’s an ongoing pattern. Sure, he has supporters in other countries, but they are few and far between, and a lot of them seem just as delusional as his supporters in the United States. The news also shows things happening around the world that don’t always get the same attention in the United States, like the impact on civilians in Iran. International coverage tends to spend more time on the harm being done to these civilians, even compared to CNN. I’m proud to be an American, and I always will be. But it’s also okay, and at this point necessary, to be proud of your country while also being embarrassed by this administration at the same time.
