Trump bans CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House, and his followers are applauding this. These are the same people that are always arguing that their Constitutional rights are being violated. That their Second Amendment rights are being taken away by the left, when no such thing has ever happened. I wish they would stop arguing that they care about the Constitution and admit they only care about the amendments that are important to them. Freedom of the press is in the First Amendment, but that doesn’t seem to be important to them. Only dictatorships don’t allow the press to say anything negative about the government, and it’s clear they would be okay with it if Trump was their dictator. Look at countries like China, Cuba, and Russia. These are countries where independent journalists and news organizations are not allowed to criticize the government. That is why freedom of the press is so important. The press is supposed to be able to criticize those in power, not just report things that the government approves of or allows them to report on. If a Democratic president had banned Fox News from the White House, they would have rioted like it was January 6th. They would be talking about the First Amendment, freedom of the press, government overreach, and how dangerous it is for a president to punish a news organization because he or she doesn't like its coverage. They continue with their hypocrisy on a daily basis. If you really believe in the Constitution, you don't get to pick and choose which amendments matter based on which political party is in power or which people are exercising those rights. The Constitution is supposed to protect rights even when you don't like the people using them. That's the whole point.
