Only "the right" to bear arms

January 28, 2026

It looks like the right to bear arms is being replaced with only “the right” to bear arms. If you don’t agree with the right-wing agenda, then you don’t have a right to bear arms. It was okay for protesters to carry guns into the United States Capitol building on January 6th. Why? Because they were trying to fight to keep Trump in office. It was okay for Kyle Rittenhouse to brandish a gun at a protest because he was there “as a patriot,” because the right believes only they can be patriots. But when a person who is liberal, like Alex Pretti, brings a gun to a protest, all of a sudden Trump says, “I don’t like that he had a gun.” He was okay with people having guns at the attack on the Capitol, although he claims there were no firearms — even though it has been proven there were, through plenty of photographs. At the same time, it was not okay for Alex Pretti to carry a gun, which he legally had a permit to carry. It was okay for Kyle Rittenhouse to shoot three people at a protest, killing two of them after brandishing a gun, but it was not okay for Alex Pretti to help a woman while having a gun that he never brandished or even took out of the holster while helping that woman, who was pushed to the ground by an ICE agent. FBI Director Kash Patel was one of the most vocal supporters of Kyle Rittenhouse and his right to bear arms, but is now saying that Alex Pretti shouldn’t have had a gun and that shooting him was justified for that reason. Basically, it is okay to execute a person you don’t agree with for doing the same thing that you pardoned people for whom you do agree with. The argument that bad things will happen if you bring a gun to a protest is not true, because good things will happen when the president pardons you. The Second Amendment is for all Americans — not just the people you feel deserve that right because they agree with you.
